The joint method of heat resistant conveyor belt

  In October last year, our company shipped a 70-meter flame-retardant conveyor with a width of 800mm to a coal mine in India for the transmission and transportation of mineral materials.


  The heat-resistant conveyor belt is made of multi-layer rubber cotton canvas (polyester cotton cloth) or polyester canvas covered with high temperature resistant or heat-resistant rubber, and is vulcanized and bonded together at high temperature. 


 It is suitable for conveying hot coke below 175℃. Cement, slag and hot castings, etc.


  It is mainly used in metallurgy, construction and other industries to transport high-temperature materials such as sinter, coke, cement clinker, etc. The material temperature does not exceed 800°C and the belt surface temperature does not exceed 220°C.


  There are some joints of the heat conveyor belt which are mechanical joints, cold bonding joints, hot vulcanization joints.


  The mechanical joints usually refer to using the belt buckle joints, this type of joints method is convenient and relatively economical but the joint effective is low and easy to be damaged, have a certain impact for the using life of the conveyor belt. Among the joints of PVC and the PVG whole core flame retardant anti static conveyor belt, usually the level is under grades 8 of the products adopted this kind of joint methods.


  Cold bonding joint used the cold adhesives for joints. This kind of joint methods is more efficient and economical than mechanical joints and it should be able to have the better joint effect. But from the practical point of view, due to the technology condition is hard to be mastered, the adhesive quality has a great impact on the joint so it is not so stable.


  Hot vulcanization joint, form the practice can prove that is an ideal joint methods which can promised the high joint efficiency. Meanwhile it is very stable, the life of the joint is long and easy to be mastered. But it exists the troublesome process, high cost, long term of joint operation and other disadvantages.


  The joints of layered conveyor belt could according to the required of mechanical joints, cold bonding joints, hot vulcanization joints and other joint methods. Usually cold bonding joint, hot vulcanization joint applied the steeped structure joints. Due to the whole core belt structure is special, it is not so easy to be jointed, so most of the time applied the mechanical joint that is belt buckle joints.


  But for the conveyor belt that the level is above grades 8 to ensure the joint effect generally adopted the hot vulcanization joint method. The joint structure are all finger joints. The hot vulcanization joint of PVC and PVG the whole core flame retardant conveyor belt are complex and required high for the devices.


  The joint technology of the steel cord conveyor belt is the most complex of all the joint process of conveyor belt, not only the process is complex but also the designed joint size of parameters are numerous. Different levels of production select the different joint structure. Please refer to the GB9770 standard for the specific structure.
