In June 2023, our company shipped a 103-meter-long steep incline conveyor belt with a bandwidth of 1200mm to a coal mine in Uganda for the transportation and delivery of coal.

  The high-angle corrugated sidewall belt consists of three parts: base belt, sidewall, and diaphragm. The ribs prevent materials from slipping and falling. In order to make it easier to bypass the roller, the ribs are designed in a corrugated shape; the function of the diaphragm is to support the material. In order to achieve large-angle conveying, a T-type TC type is adopted.

  The ribs and diaphragms are connected to the base belt by secondary vulcanization, which has high connection strength. High-angle conveyor belts are mainly used for horizontal transportation of bulk materials such as coal, coke, sand and gravel, and can also be used for vertical transportation of finished items.

  Steep incline conveyor belt is an unique conveyor belt mainly applied in conveying high speed, high density and high wear materials such as coal mine, coal ore, soot, etc. The installation process of steep inline conveyor belt need a certain professionalism.

1. Preparation before installation

Before installing steep incline conveyor belt, need to clean up the equipment and inspect. First clean the equipment in order to remove oil stains, dust, debris, etc., and inspect whether there are scatters, cracks and wear on the conveyor belt. If there is problem, need to repaired or replaced.

2. Install conveyor belt

When installing steep incline conveyor belt need to roll up the firstly and unfold the conveyor belt, then lay it on a conveyor belt at a certain inclination. During the paving process need to pay attention the direction of the conveyor belt, ensure the direction of conveyor belt could be matched with the equipment. Attention to the tension of the conveyor belt, need to maintain appropriate amount of tension to avoid loosening and irregular movement of the conveyor belt.

3. Installing idler roller, drivers and finished machines

The installation of steep incline conveyor belt need to install idler, drivers and finished machine. Installation of idler roller need to make sure its position correct to support conveyor belt and control the movement of belt. Installation of drivers need to ensure it is connected firmly with the conveyor belt and maintain a appropriate amount of tension. The installation of factory finished machine generally need to installed at the end of the belt conveyor to convey the materials quickly out of the belt conveyor equipment, ensure the smooth transportation.

4. Install sealing devices and simple anti flying devices

Installation of steep incline conveyor belt need to install sealing devices and simple anti-flying devices. Sealing devices could prevent materials and dust from drifting from the side of the conveyor belt, reduce the environmental production pollution risks. Simple anti fly device can prevent materials from crossing the conveyor belt as well as the droplets and haze attached to the equipment.

5. Conduct trial operation

After finishing the installation of the steep incline conveyor belt, need to conduct an operation hence the equipment can be confirmed that can run normally and make necessary adjustments. During the running in, have to pay attention to whether there are abnormal sounds from the equipment, whether there is water leakage in the pipeline. If there are some abnormal problems, need to deal with in a timely manner and make sure the equipment could operate normally.

  In short, the installation of steep incline conveyor belt need to be carried our strictly in accordance with the installation specifications to ensure that the conveyor belt is firm and stable and will not cause danger or accidents. In additional, while installing the target conveying equipment, need to consider the characteristics of materials, conveying ambient, workload and other factors. To make an appropriate installation solution ensure the safety, effective and efficiency of equipment operation.
