  In January 2023, our company shipped a 76-meter flame-retardant conveyor belt with a bandwidth of 800mm to a metallurgical material transportation in a Nigerian metallurgical plant.


  Flame-retardant conveyor belts, also known as whole-core flame-retardant conveyor belts, are made of an integral belt core that is impregnated with polyvinyl chloride impregnated paste and then plasticized or vulcanized.


  It has the characteristics of high strength, large transportation capacity, and balanced transportation. At the same time, this product It has good flame retardant, antistatic, impact resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties. This product is mainly suitable for underground transportation in coal mines, and can also be used for material transportation in the metallurgical and chemical industries.


  The edge wear of the PVG flame retardant conveyor belt is mainly caused by the friction and the wear between the belt edge and the frame when the conveyor belt deviates. Conveyor belt should be run on the center line of the roller groups due to the manufacture, installation, using of the belt conveyor and other caused the defects which will make the conveyor belt always deviates from the center line. Usually there is 5% of deviation in the width direction of the PVG flame retardant conveyor belt.


  When the deviation is too much, conveyor belt will contact with roller bracket and the frame caused the edge rubber to wear. When there is a serious deviation, even make the conveyor belt flange such as the radial screw head of the drum the cleaner block and other protrusions. The starting position or the frame gap is too small will easily cause the conveyor belt to tear and the covered glue to partially peel off and be scratched.


  Through the analysis of the wear factors of the PVG flame retardant conveyor belt, in the design of the belt conveyor belt should be applied some corresponding preventive measure to extend the using life of the conveyor belt. Normally from 5 aspects to optimized the design to reduce the wear of the conveyor belt: appropriately choose the conveyor belt; reduce the wear to the conveyor belt; reduce the wear from the belt conveyor to the conveyor belt; optimized the feeding device structure; reduce the impact to the conveyor belt during the material receiving process; use the electromechanical protection device.


  PVG flame retardant conveyor belt has better performance, longer using life, denser belt body, it is not easily get in water, anti corrosion resistance than than the ordinary conveyor belt which is applied the flat vulcanization process, the specific process is to impregnated the entire core with PVG plastisol and initally mold it in an oven then add the lower and upper glue that heat and pressurize it through the flat vulcanization.


  PVG flame retardant conveyor belt is made of core glue, steel cord rope, the covered layer and the edge rubber. It has high tear strength, the flame retardant resistance, the anti static, safety performance are good, the thickness of the covered glue and the shape could be selected arbitrarily. Long using life, using with small elongation, good rough forming, good flexibility resistance that suits for long distance, large span, high speed of material transportation.
