  In June 2024, our company shipped a 221-meter nylon conveyor belt with a bandwidth of 1200mm to a gravel field in Lebanon for the transportation and delivery of sand and gravel.

  Nylon conveyor belt is kind of a commonly used rubber conveyor belt with high strength, wear resistance, impact resistance and excellent elasticity. Vulcanization is the key process of manufacturing nylon conveyor belt. The following will introduce the vulcanization process of the nylon conveyor belt.


  Vulcanization process is to heat the nylon conveyor belt trough heating and pressure process, make it react with the vulcanizer in a certain time to form a cross-lined structure, hence improving the mechanical performance and durability. The following are the main steps of vulcanization process of conveyor belts.


  1. Preparation: First, need to prepare nylon conveyor belts and vulcanizer. Vulcanizer is usually an compound substance with active sulfur, such as hydrogen sulfide. Carbon disulfide, etc. In addition, need to prepare the heating equipment and the pressure equipment.


  2. Cleaning: Cleaning the nylon conveyor belt, remove the stains and the impurities on the surface of nylon conveyor belt, ensure the vulcanizer could penetrate into the nylon fiber fully.


  3. Apply vulcanizer: apply the vulcanizer evenly on the surface of the nylon conveyor belt. Could use brush, spray, etc. to apply it. Making sure the vulcanizer could be evenly distributed evenly the entire nylon conveyor belt.


  4. Heating treatment: Put the nylon conveyor belt coated with vulcanizer into the heating process for heating process. Heating temperature and time need to according to the specific vulcanizer and requirements of nylon conveyor belt to be adjusted, it generally heated between the 150-180 degrees Celsius for 15 minus - 30 minus.


  5. Pressure treatment: In the heating process, put nylon conveyor belt into the pressure equipment for pressure treatment. The effect of pressure is to make vulcanizer to be better penetrate in to the nylon fiber while heating and promote the cross-linking reaction. The size of pressure also needs to be adjusted according to the specific requirements of vulcanizer and nylon conveyor belt.


  6. Cooling treatment: when finished the heating and pressure treatment, take the nylon conveyor belt out of heating equipment and cool it. The purpose of cooling is to make nylon conveyor belt restore quickly to room temperature, solidify the vulcanizer and form a cross-linked structure.


  7. Inspecting and packaging: vulcanized nylon conveyor belt need to be quality test, make sure its meet the relevant standards and requirements. The inspecting is okay, it is packaged and stored for subsequent use.
