The maintenance of flame retardant conveyor belt

  Last year, our company shipped a 75-meter flame retardant conveyor with a width of 1000mm to a coal mine in South Africa for mining materials.


  Flame-retardant conveyor belts, also known as whole-core flame-retardant conveyor belts, are made of an integral belt core that is impregnated with polyvinyl chloride impregnated paste and then plasticized or vulcanized. 


  It has the characteristics of high strength, large transportation capacity, and balanced transportation. At the same time, this product It has good flame retardant, antistatic, impact resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties. This product is mainly suitable for underground transportation in coal mines, and can also be used for material transportation in the metallurgical and chemical industries. 


  In the transportation and the storage of the flame retardant conveyor belt should be clean, avoid direct sunlight, rain and snow, prevent to contact with the acid and alkali, oil and organic solvents and other substances that affect the quality of rubber. And placed it one meter away from the heat device. The room temperature should be kept between —15℃—+40℃ when storage, the relatively humidity should be maintained between 50—80%. During the storage the conveyor belt should be placed in roll without folding and it should be turned once a quarter.


  The operation speed of the conveyor belt should not greater than 5m/s when transport the large and abrasive materials and use the fixed plow type unloading device should be applied low speed. When the speed exceed the limited speed will affect the using life of the conveyor belt. The relationship between the transmission drum and the conveyor belt fabric layer, the matching of the transmission drum’s reversing drum and the requirements for the roller groove angle should be design reasonably selected according to the design regulations of the conveyor.


  In order to reduce the impact and wear from the materials to the tape, the feeding direction should be along the operation direction of the tape; the drop of materials falling onto the tape should be minimized; the feeding port should be avoided being directly above the drum or roller; the material receiving section of the tape should be short the gap between the rollers and take measurements to prevent the tape from being scratched, the contact parts between the scrapper cleaning device and the unloading of the material blocking device and the tape should be made of rubber plates with appropriate hardness. Do not use tape heads with a cloth layer sandwiched between them.


  During use should be pay attention to the rollers should be avoided being covered with the materials that cause the rotation failure, prevent the leakage materials from getting stuck between roller and tape. Attention the moving parts of lubrication but not allow oil to stain the conveyor belt. Try the best to avoid starting under load. If the conveyor belt deviates should take measurements in time. If find the part damage of the conveyor belt should repair it timely to avoid expansion. Prevent the tape from being blocked by the frame, pillars or block materials to prevent it from being damaged or torn.
