In September last year, our company shipped a 40-meter, 1200mm-wide nylon conveyor belt to a coal mine in the United States for the transmission and transportation of mineral materials.

  Nylon conveyor belt, the middle canvas is nylon canvas. 

  Nylon (NN) conveyor belt has the characteristics of thin belt body, high strength, impact resistance, good groove formation, strong inter-layer adhesion, excellent flexibility and long service life. It is suitable for medium and long distances and high load capacity. , transporting materials under high-speed conditions, widely used in mining, coal fields, chemical industry, metallurgy, construction, ports and other departments.

  Nylon conveyor belt is a common conveyor material which is widely used in all kinds of industries. Compared with other material of conveyor belts, nylon conveyor belt has some other special advantages and features. When selecting the material of conveyor belt the range of application, the using environment, wear resistance, tension of strength and the high-temperature resistance should all be considered.

  Firstly, nylon conveyor belt with relatively high wear-resistance. Nylon material has excellent wear-resistance capacity, most of the time could work for a long time in the industrial environment and it is not easy to get wear. Nylon conveyor belt adopts to conveyor heavy goods, corrosive material and places need to be moved frequently. In comparison, rubber or polyvinyl chloride are slightly inferior in wear resistance.

  Secondly, nylon conveyor belt has high tensile strength. Nylon material has great tensile strength that could withstand large force, and it is not so easy to be break. This make nylon conveyor belt suits for conveying material in long distance such as ores, coals and other industries.

  Third, nylon conveyor belt has good high temperature-resistance. Nylon material could maintain good stability and performance in a high temperature environment, nylon conveyor belt can still work normally as usual in some high temperature places which makes nylon conveyor belt suits to work in high temperature environments such as metallurgy, glass and other industries.  

  In addition, nylon conveyor belts have some disadvantages. First, the price of nylon conveyor belt is relatively high. Due to the material of nylon conveyor belt has good performance which makes the manufacturing cost is high, the price of nylon conveyor belt will become more expensive in the familiar products. 

  Second, the using life of nylon conveyor belt is relatively short. Although, the material of nylon conveyor belt has good wear-resistance and tensile strength, the using life is still shorter than other conveyor belt with special material., such as the steel cord conveyor belt. Steel cord conveyor belt due to its special structure that have a longer using life and higher wear-resistance performance.

  When choosing the material of conveyor belt, we need to consider the performance and budget. If we need a high wear-resistance and tensile strength and able to work under a high temperature environment nylon conveyor belt will be a good choice. However if the budget is small or need to have a longer using life we should think about other material of conveyor belt.
