In April 2023, our company shipped a 200-meter nylon conveyor belt with a width of 1400mm to a coal mine in Malaysia for the mine's ore transportation.

Conveyor belt is one of the parts that used to transport products in the industrial production and processing. Since the conveyor belt enterprises introduced the conveyor belt, the development of industrial production process has been advanced and save many manpower and resources of the enterprises meanwhile improve the working efficiency. However even the better conveyor belt shouldn’t work for a long time and will have the followed problem. For example the conveyor belt slip during the operation time, how to solve it?

  1. Knowing the reason of slip that could be solved easily. When the conveyor belt operated normally, the speed is lower than 95% of the roller speed will caused the insufficient friction between the conveyor belt and the idlers that result in slipping. There are many reasons that cause the insufficient friction between conveyor belt and idlers.

  2. The reason of insufficient tension is caused by the tensioning is short, insufficient counterweight and the conveyor belt is too long. When the initial tension force is too small, the tensioner has insufficient force or the tensioning trolley is stuck the tension helps conveyor belt to leave the idler won’t be sufficient thus cause the slippage of the conveyor belt. This phenomenon usually occurs at starting, the solution is adjust the tensioning device.

  3. The reason cause the slippage due to the friction between the transmission roller and the conveyor belt is insufficient. Most of the reasons are there is water on the conveyor belt or the environment is humid, the friction coefficient is decreased. The solution is adding some rosin powder on the drum but careful not to put it by hands, should be added by the blower to avoid personal accidents.

  4. The load on the conveyor belt is too much, exceeding the bearing capacity of the electric motor or start too fast will cause slippage too. The solution is when the conveyor belt slips and does not rotate should stop the operation of the conveyor belt immediately and deal with it.
